Turn existing size charts into automatic head-size recommendations

Already using a Shopify size chart, size guide or size recommender? You do not need to replace your existing sizing logic. TWIWT adds camera-based head measurement and uses the size chart configured for each product to recommend the relevant size. Shoppers measure using a phone or laptop camera, directly in the browser and in seconds, without installing an app or digging out a measuring tape.

For retailers selling hats, caps, helmets or wigs, one size chart may not cover the full catalogue. Different brands and manufacturers can assign different measurements to the same size label. TWIWT supports multiple size charts within the same store, matches the shopper's measurements with the chart configured for the product and shows the recommended size before checkout.

XXL 63–64 cm

Shape-aware recommendations for helmet size charts

Circumference is not always the whole sizing decision. Some helmet brands publish different size ranges for round and oval head profiles, while others design different models around different interior head shapes. In these catalogues, the same circumference may map to a different size or product depending on head shape.

Round Oval
Intermediate Oval
Long Oval

TWIWT measures circumference and the shopper's head-shape profile during the same camera-based flow. When a product uses shape-specific sizing logic, TWIWT applies the size chart or rule configured by the retailer and recommends the size for that product. This removes the need for the shopper to identify their own head shape or select a round or oval category themselves.

For helmet products, the recommendation supports online size selection and does not replace the manufacturer's fitting guidance or a final fit check.

With TWIWT, retailers can

  • Keep their existing size charts and sizing logic
  • Recommend sizes using the chart configured for each product
  • Support different charts across brands, manufacturers and product ranges
  • Apply round or oval sizing rules when a product uses head-shape-specific logic
  • Remove the need for shoppers to measure and interpret charts manually
  • Integrate with Shopify, WooCommerce, Magento, PrestaShop or a custom ecommerce store using a JavaScript snippet

Reduce fit uncertainty. Increase conversion.

Research indicates that clearer fit information can reduce purchase uncertainty and support improved conversion, order-value and return outcomes.

Higher order value, fewer returns

HBS researchers randomly assigned online shoppers to see fit information (including a size recommendation) or not. Those who saw it bought more and returned less.

Harvard Business School (2018)

Fit uncertainty kills purchase

Peer-reviewed research consistently shows that perceived fit uncertainty is a key barrier to online purchase. When shoppers can't judge whether a product will fit, they hesitate, or they order two sizes and send one back.

Science Direct (2024)
80%

Conversion lift

Among apparel brands and retailers already using a size recommender tool, 80% report it increases conversion. The same survey links sizing tools to higher shopper confidence and measurably fewer returns.

Frequently asked questions

Does this work on mobile?

Yes. The flow is optimized for modern mobile browsers and desktop devices.

How fast is the result?

Most measurements complete in a few seconds after capture quality is sufficient.

How much does it cost?

Pricing depends on your volume and setup. After a free demo call, we'll send a custom quote.

Do we need our own developers for integration?

No. Add a JavaScript snippet to your storefront, or give our integration specialist access to handle the implementation. Size charts and product-mapping rules are configured in the TWIWT dashboard, and our team can handle the setup for large or complex catalogues.

What happens to customer data?

No photos or videos are stored. Face mapping runs on the customer's device. Data does not leave the device except for LLM inference, where it is neither stored nor used for training.

What if a customer denies camera access?

The technology is camera-based, so it cannot work without it. In that case, the customer can use the standard size chart on your website and measure manually.

Can we see usage statistics?

Yes. The dashboard tracks started and completed measurements and breaks them down by product. Your own e-shop metrics, such as returns and conversions, remain in your existing tools.

Can we customize the look to match our brand?

Yes. By default you can set colors and your own logo. For more specific requirements, we can develop a fully customized solution.

What languages is the measurement available in?

Any language. If we don't support one out of the box, we can deploy it promptly.

Can TWIWT work with my existing Shopify size chart?

Yes. You can keep your existing Shopify size charts and sizing logic. TWIWT adds camera-based head measurement, applies the chart assigned to the relevant product and returns a size recommendation before checkout.

Can TWIWT recommend sizes across multiple product and manufacturer charts?

Yes. TWIWT can use different charts for different brands, manufacturers, product ranges or individual products. After measuring the shopper's head, it applies the sizing logic configured for the selected product and recommends the matching size. This allows a multi-brand retailer to support different definitions of sizes such as small, medium and large within the same catalogue.

Can TWIWT use head shape as part of a helmet size recommendation?

Yes. TWIWT measures the shopper's head-shape profile alongside circumference. If a product uses separate sizing rules for round and oval profiles, TWIWT applies the relevant rule configured for that product. Retailers can also configure product-specific logic for helmet models designed around different interior head shapes. If head shape is not part of the product's sizing logic, TWIWT uses the measurements and size chart configured by the retailer. For helmets, the recommendation supports online size selection and does not replace the manufacturer's fitting guidance or a final fit check.

How are size charts set up and matched to products?

Size charts and the rules that map them to products are configured in the TWIWT dashboard. Your team can create and edit charts, assign them to brands, product ranges or individual products, and adjust the sizing logic at any time. The storefront integration is a single JavaScript snippet, and for large or complex catalogues the TWIWT team can handle the setup and mapping for you.

Does TWIWT replace an existing size chart or size guide?

Not necessarily. Retailers can keep their existing size charts and sizing logic. A conventional chart presents measurements for the shopper to interpret, while TWIWT adds camera-based measurement and maps the result to the relevant product's sizing rules. The standard chart can remain available for shoppers who prefer to measure manually or do not grant camera access.

Which product categories can use TWIWT's Head Measurement Tool?

The Head Measurement Tool is designed for ecommerce products where head measurements determine size, including:

  • Hats
  • Caps
  • Motorcycle helmets
  • Cycling helmets
  • Ski and snowboard helmets
  • Equestrian helmets
  • Safety helmets and hard hats
  • Tactical helmets
  • Wigs and wig caps

The relevant measurements are mapped to the size chart configured for each product.

How accurate is the head measurement?

TWIWT is accurate to ±1 cm in 90% of cases. Lighting, camera position and user technique can affect measurement quality, so the system identifies problematic conditions and can prompt the shopper to measure again.

Which ecommerce platforms does TWIWT support?

TWIWT works with Shopify, WooCommerce, Magento, PrestaShop and custom ecommerce stores. Integration uses a JavaScript snippet and connects the Head Measurement Tool with the retailer's existing products and sizing logic.

Can TWIWT help reduce size-related returns?

TWIWT reduces the need for shoppers to estimate their measurements or interpret size charts manually. By providing a product-specific size recommendation before checkout, retailers can reduce sizing uncertainty and wrong-size selection. Reported results include a 15-30% reduction in fit-related returns. Results vary by category, traffic quality and implementation quality.

Can we test TWIWT with our own products and size charts?

Yes. TWIWT can prepare a free branded demonstration using your own products and sizing logic, allowing your team to review the complete measurement and size-recommendation flow before implementation. Request Your Free Branded Demo
